Caffeinated Dreams

Yesterday Lance caved and gave me a 1 month subscription to Eve Online after I maxed out my trial account skill training. I love this game so much, and I typically loathe MMO’s. Only a 1 month account because I’m always unsure if I really want to dedicate time to make the monies worth, and because the 6 month subscription page was acting weird. But I can easily see myself playing this quite often. Already have been for almost 2 weeks.

I only know a couple people who play it that aren’t Goons (I recently joined GoonFleet, and they’re so nice to newbies), so I’m still trying to find people.

I’ve been playing this web-based game I stumbled upon for about a week now, it’s called OGame. It’s german, but they have an English version now. It’s great for when I need to get my mind off whatever I’m doing, or for wasting time during boredom. Plus it’s a sci-fi conquest game so it fits right into my area of interest.

When I woke up and checked it this morning it turns out I was raided. Fucking fuck. Now my resources are almost completely dry after working to get them (and build ships). Determind to not let that happen again, I’m focusing on building up defenses for the time being… still peev’d though. :(

I got Lance interested and now he’s doing it too. Universe 20 is where I’m at; guess the username. :D

Hehe. Tonight is the release party for Hitman: Blood Money. I have no idea where it is at other than we need to take a boat to get there, and it’s themed as either the Hell or Heaven clubs from the game… I think. Hell, I don’t even remember what the clubs are called in the game other than one is hell-themed and the other is heaven-themed.

I was only reminded of the party this past Monday when my Danish instructor said she was going. Seriously, the release date came up so fast!

Now, for the good and bad of this party tonight. Good: It’s a party. Surely to be drinking. Party party party. (semi)Bad: I don’t have any “nice-casual” clothes at all. Never had a need for them. I had a dress, a skirt, and some shoes. No blouses/whatever. Just t-shirts. Hah. Well, I don’t see it as an issue, but Lance was in a tie this morning and that threw me off. Until he said people will be casual as well but wanted me to be all dressy. I really need to go shopping for new clothes, these are the same clothes I wore when I was in high school!

Well, time to get ready to head off to IOI. :)

Oh yeah, I have a real internet connection now. 24mbit down/1mbit up. So no more random vanishings.

This is going to go over the pro’s and con’s I find in both browsers, and some shortcomings or advantages. Annoyances, and can’t-live-withouts. It’s focused strictly on the views of a KDE user, so it’s relevance to anything isn’t much in the world of browsers. Just opinions.
